Medicine information
उपयोग
Dorzolamide and Timolol Eye Drops are a prescription ophthalmic combination used to help reduce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) in people with conditions such as glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Dorzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor that helps reduce the production of aqueous humor, while Timolol is a beta-blocker that also lowers the formation of fluid inside the eye. By working through different mechanisms, the combination can help control eye pressure when prescribed by an ophthalmologist.
कैसे उपयोग करें
Dorzolamide and Timolol Eye Drops should be used exactly as prescribed by your ophthalmologist. The dosage and treatment duration depend on your eye pressure, medical condition, response to treatment, and other medicines you may be using. Wash your hands: Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops to reduce the risk of contamination. Check the bottle: Verify the medicine name, strength, expiry date, and appearance of the solution or suspension before use. Shake if required: If the product label instructs you to shake the bottle, gently shake it before applying the drops. Position yourself: Tilt your head backward and look upward. Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket. Apply the prescribed dose: Hold the bottle above the eye and instill the recommended number of drops into the affected eye. Avoid touching the dropper: Do not allow the dropper tip to touch your eye, eyelashes, eyelid, fingers, or other surfaces. Close your eye: Gently close your eye after applying the drop. Avoid rubbing or squeezing the eye. Use nasolacrimal occlusion: If advised by your doctor, gently press the inner corner of your closed eye near the nose for about 1–2 minutes. This may reduce systemic absorption. Follow the schedule: Use the medicine at the prescribed times. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your ophthalmologist.
