Piroxicam dispersible tablets contain piroxicam, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to manage pain and inflammation associated with certain musculoskeletal and inflammatory disorders. Piroxicam works mainly by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, which are involved in the formation of prostaglandins responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation. By reducing prostaglandin production, piroxicam may help decrease joint pain, stiffness, and inflammation and support improved mobility. Because piroxicam has a relatively long duration of action, it is generally used under careful medical supervision, particularly when treatment continues for an extended period. Patients should use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration considered appropriate by their healthcare professional. Higher doses or prolonged use can increase the risk of serious gastrointestinal, kidney, cardiovascular, and other adverse effects. Patients should tell their doctor if they have previously experienced stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, asthma triggered by NSAIDs, or other significant medical conditions. Piroxicam may interact with medicines such as anticoagulants, antiplatelet medicines, corticosteroids, other NSAIDs, certain blood-pressure medicines, diuretics, and medicines that affect kidney function. Piroxicam should not generally be combined with other NSAIDs unless specifically recommended by a healthcare professional. Alcohol should also be limited because it can increase gastrointestinal irritation and bleeding risk. Pregnant women, women planning pregnancy, and breastfeeding mothers should consult their healthcare professional before using piroxicam. Seek urgent medical attention for symptoms such as black or bloody stools, vomiting blood, severe abdominal pain, chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reactions, or significantly reduced urine output. Piroxicam dispersible tablets are intended for medically appropriate pain and inflammation management and should not be used for unexplained pain without professional evaluation.
कैसे उपयोग करें
Take piroxicam dispersible tablets exactly according to your doctor's prescribed dose and schedule. Follow the product instructions regarding dispersion. If the product is specifically labelled as dispersible, disperse the tablet in the recommended amount of water before taking it, unless your pharmacist or product label gives different instructions. Do not use a larger amount of water or alter the preparation method unless advised by your healthcare professional. Take the medicine at the recommended time each day when regular treatment has been prescribed. Taking the medicine with or after food may help reduce stomach discomfort, unless your doctor gives different instructions. Do not take more than the prescribed dose because higher doses can increase the risk of stomach bleeding, kidney problems, and cardiovascular complications. If you miss a dose, take it when you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose. Do not take two doses together. Do not combine piroxicam with ibuprofen, diclofenac, naproxen, aspirin for pain relief, or another NSAID unless your doctor specifically recommends it. Tell your doctor if you take blood thinners, corticosteroids, diuretics, blood-pressure medicines, lithium, methotrexate, or other regular medicines. Inform your doctor about previous stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, kidney disease, liver disease, heart disease, high blood pressure, or NSAID-related asthma. Avoid unnecessary alcohol consumption during treatment because it may increase the risk of stomach irritation and gastrointestinal bleeding. Contact your healthcare professional promptly if you develop severe stomach pain, black stools, vomiting blood, unusual swelling, breathing difficulty, chest pain, or reduced urination. Pregnant women or women planning pregnancy should consult their doctor before using piroxicam. Do not change the dose or stop long-term treatment without medical advice.
