Medicine information
Uses & overview
GLIDAPAFLOZIN TRIO 1 FORTE is a combination oral antidiabetic medicine marketed by Steris Healthcare. It contains Dapagliflozin 10 mg, Glimepiride 1 mg, and Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg (Extended Release). These three active ingredients work through complementary mechanisms to support blood glucose management in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin 10 mg belongs to the sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor class. It helps lower blood glucose by reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, allowing excess glucose to be eliminated through urine. Glimepiride 1 mg belongs to the sulfonylurea class of medicines. It helps lower blood glucose by stimulating insulin release from the pancreas. Metformin Hydrochloride 1000 mg (Extended Release) belongs to the biguanide class. It helps reduce glucose production in the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. The extended-release formulation is designed to release the medicine gradually. This combination may be prescribed when a healthcare professional determines that all three medicines are appropriate for an individual's diabetes treatment plan. Treatment should be supported by a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and routine blood glucose monitoring. GLIDAPAFLOZIN TRIO 1 FORTE should be used only under medical supervision. Its suitability depends on the patient's blood glucose levels, kidney function, medical history, cardiovascular health, and response to treatment.
