How to use
Nilotinib is a prescription medicine used to treat certain types of leukemia and should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor or oncologist. Proper administration is particularly important because food can significantly affect how much Nilotinib is absorbed by the body. Take as prescribed: Use Nilotinib strictly according to your doctor's recommended dose and treatment schedule. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Take on an empty stomach: Nilotinib is usually taken without food. Take the medicine at least 2 hours after eating and wait at least 1 hour after taking it before eating again, unless your doctor provides different instructions. Swallow whole: Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or open them unless your healthcare professional specifically instructs you to do so. Take consistently: Try to take each dose at the same times every day to maintain a regular treatment schedule. Missed dose: If you miss a dose, follow your doctor's instructions. Do not take an extra dose to compensate for a missed dose. Avoid grapefruit: Avoid grapefruit, grapefruit juice, and products containing grapefruit because they may affect Nilotinib levels in your blood. Other medicines: Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, supplements, and herbal products you use because Nilotinib can interact with several medicines. Regular monitoring: Keep scheduled appointments for blood tests and other monitoring recommended by your doctor during treatment. Do not stop independently: Continue Nilotinib for the duration prescribed, even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to stop.
