Uses & overview
Rivaroxaban 20 mg is an oral anticoagulant medicine prescribed to help prevent and treat specific blood-clotting conditions. It belongs to the Factor Xa inhibitor class of medicines and works by blocking Factor Xa, an important protein involved in the formation of blood clots. By reducing clot formation, rivaroxaban can help lower the risk of complications associated with certain cardiovascular and venous thromboembolic conditions.
How to use
Follow your prescribed dosage: Take the exact dose and frequency recommended by your healthcare professional. Rivaroxaban 20 mg is commonly prescribed once daily for certain indications, but the correct regimen depends on your diagnosis and treatment stage. Take it with food: Rivaroxaban 20 mg must be taken with food to ensure appropriate absorption. Take it with a meal at the time recommended by your doctor. Maintain a regular schedule: Take your tablet at approximately the same time each day to help maintain consistent treatment. Swallow the tablet properly: Take the tablet with water, following the instructions provided with your medicine. If you miss a dose: For a prescribed once-daily 20 mg regimen, take the missed dose as soon as you remember on the same day. Continue your usual schedule the following day. Do not take two doses on the same day to compensate for a missed dose unless your treating clinician specifically instructs you otherwise. Avoid unsupervised medication changes: Do not stop Rivaroxaban 20 mg suddenly, change the dose, or switch to another anticoagulant without medical advice. Inform your healthcare professional: Report all medicines and supplements you take, especially aspirin, ibuprofen, other anticoagulants, and certain antibiotics or antifungal medicines. Monitor for bleeding: Seek urgent medical attention for uncontrolled bleeding, black stools, blood in your urine or vomit, or a severe headache, especially following a head injury.
