Medicine information
Uses & overview
TASMULINE D by Steris Healthcare contains Tamsulosin 0.4 mg and Dutasteride 0.5 mg, a combination of two medicines used to manage benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. Tamsulosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker that relaxes the smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, helping urine pass more easily. Dutasteride is a 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that reduces the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone involved in prostate growth. Over time, dutasteride can help reduce prostate size and the risk of BPH-related complications. The combination of tamsulosin and dutasteride works through complementary mechanisms to manage both urinary symptoms and prostate enlargement. Treatment response may vary, and dutasteride may take several months to provide its full benefit. TASMULINE D should be used only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional.
