Medicine information
Uses & overview
TMOZOLOMIDE 250 Capsule contains Temozolomide 250 mg, an oral alkylating antineoplastic medicine used in the treatment of certain malignant brain tumors. Temozolomide works by damaging the DNA of cancer cells, which interferes with their ability to grow and multiply. Temozolomide is commonly used as part of treatment protocols for newly diagnosed glioblastoma in combination with radiotherapy, followed by maintenance treatment. It may also be used for certain cases of recurrent or progressive anaplastic astrocytoma. The treatment schedule and dose are determined by the treating oncologist based on the patient's diagnosis, body surface area, blood counts, previous treatment, and overall health. TMOZOLOMIDE 250 is a product of Steris Healthcare and contains Temozolomide 250 mg per capsule. Because temozolomide can significantly affect blood cell counts and may cause other serious adverse effects, treatment requires regular medical supervision and laboratory monitoring.
How to use
Take TMOZOLOMIDE 250 exactly as prescribed by your oncologist. Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. Temozolomide is usually administered according to a specific treatment cycle determined by the oncologist. Depending on the treatment protocol, it may be taken on particular days of a treatment cycle and at a specific time in relation to meals. Follow your prescribed schedule exactly and do not change the dose or treatment duration without medical advice. If you vomit after taking a dose, do not take another capsule on the same day unless your oncologist specifically instructs you to do so. If you miss a dose, contact your healthcare professional for instructions rather than taking an extra dose.
Storage
